Healthy
Families |
What is Healthy Families
Wakulla? We are a community-based family
support service that helps families with newborn babies.
The program emphasizes prevention and intervention to help
babies and their caregivers become healthy, contributing
members of our community. |
|
Who can be part of Healthy
Families? The program is
offered to families who are expecting a baby or have a newborn
under the age of two weeks. |
|
Why is the program
needed? All parents
want to be the best parents they can be. However, some
families may find themselves overwhelmed by the responsibility
that comes with the birth of a new child. Too often, our
community's human service programs are unable to completely
respond to the needs of these families. Families that
fall through the cracks may be unable to gain access to these
services because they don't know what's available, lack of
transportation or earn an income slightly above the
eligibility requirements of other programs. The result
is a great amount of stress on their family life, and
unfortunately, the children can be adversely
affected. |
|
Our
Mission The mission
of Healthy Families Wakulla is to empower families so their
goals can be defined and met.

family system by promoting
healthy parent-child interaction
- We will
help parents enhance the healthy growth and
development of their own children by providing
