Our Mission:
To increase awareness of the dangers of tobacco use.
 
Our Goals:
  • Prevention - reduce the number of youth who begin using tobacco by empowering youth and adults in anti-tobacco advocacy and policy making through education and training
  • Environment - eliminate second hand smoke exposure in the community
  • Cessation - decrease the number of youth and adults who are using tobacco
The Tobacco Free Partnership of Wakulla County
The Tobacco Free Partnership of Wakulla County coordinates tobacco prevention efforts throughout Wakulla County. The meeting dates and locations are found below. Students Working Against Tobacco
SWAT is Florida's statewide youth organization working to mobilize, educate, and equip Florida youth to revolt against and de-glamorize Big Tobacco. In Wakulla, the SWAT program participates in community events, regional trainings, and activities aimed to increase awareness of tobacco prevention throughout Wakulla. Led by their school advisor, SWAT is active in Riversprings Middle School, Wakulla Middle School, COAST Charter School and Wakulla High School.

Tobacco Cessation
The Florida Department of Health in Wakulla County, in conjunction with Big Bend Area Health Education Centers (AHEC), offers three ways to quit smoking and all of them are free. These solutions are available to ALL residents of Wakulla County. If you're ready to quit or are interested in finding out abut options available to help you quit, call 1-877-848-6696.

Each day more than 3,450 young people between 12 and 17 years of age smoke their first cigarette and 850 become daily smokers. Middle and High School students in Wakulla County are invited to join SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) by calling SWAT Coordinator Molly Clore at 850-926-0400.
