Florida Department of Health in Wakulla County
Padraic R. Juarez Administrator Our Mission: To protect, promote & improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county, & community efforts.
The Healthy Families program provides families with useful, up-to-date information on child development and parenting.
Services are delivered primarily through home visits with parents and children. During a typical home visit, parents can learn activities to help strengthen children’s brain and language development. Home visits allow Healthy Families to provide information of specific interest to individual families. Home visit topics and activities include:
Information on baby/child development
Developmental screenings
Information on teaching with love
Information on baby and child temperaments
Home safety and child-proofing tips
Tips for reducing stress
Families who reside in Franklin or Wakulla Counties and who are expecting a new baby or have a child under 3 months old are encouraged to contact us for more information.
All Healthy Families services are FREE and VOLUNTARY.
